On June 14th, the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) pointed out in its latest "Semiconductor Materials Market Report" that the global semiconductor materials market had an annual growth rate of 8.9% in 2022, with revenue reaching $72.7 billion, surpassing the market record of $66.8 billion set in 2021.

From a segmented perspective, in 2022, the revenue of wafer manufacturing materials and packaging materials reached $44.7 billion and $28 billion, respectively, with growth of 10.5% and 6.3%. The growth performance of silicon wafers, electronic gases, and masks is the most robust in the wafer manufacturing material market, while the organic substrate field has significantly driven the growth of the packaging material market.

From the perspective of national and regional performance, Taiwan, China has become the world's largest semiconductor material consumer market for the 13th consecutive year, with a total amount of US $20.1 billion. SEMI pointed out that Taiwan, China's advantages lie in its large-scale foundry capacity and advanced packaging base.

At the same time, Chinese Mainland maintains a considerable annual growth rate, ranking second in 2022, with a total amount of US $12.97 billion. South Korea, on the other hand, is the third largest consumer market for semiconductor materials, with a total amount of 12.9 billion US dollars. In addition, most regions achieved high single digit or double digit growth rates last year. The largest growth rate was 15.6% in Europe, followed by Taiwan, China, China, with an annual growth rate of 13.6%, and a decline of 1% in Japan.
